Hmm…

This is quite interesting. I look back on it with perplexity... Three things went south on that particular day. When stuff like this happens, it’s easy to throw it under a bad luck or karma bubble of sorts. Still not sure what to make of it, but the answer(s) may come in time. I try not closing myself off with a quick resolution. I’ve learned it’s not what you contemplate or seems to be. Things will catch you off guard. I’m not saying it’s anything do with that specific calendar date. But perhaps it’s nothing or it will be evident later.

  • Recently I had an appointment to discuss a role that’s been posted at a produce company. Almost every attending interview I do, usually all expectations are thrown out the window. Regardless if they’re for practice (none interested) or something worth pursuing. This particular interview went differently. After the session, the feedback received was in high esteems. Not a degree of nerves, stress, anxiety or doubt was in me. It didn’t feel like an interview, but more familiarizing with a cultural establishment. My mood was very buoyant stepping out of the building. Haven’t been this confident as it was puzzling during the drive home. I’d accept the job right then and there if offered. About 1.5 weeks later, I received a voicemail in the morning from the company. Since most interview declines are announced via email, I amped myself for great news. Decided to grab coffee at my usual spot before calling them back. Making the drive and then looking for parking, ahead of me I spotted their company truck dropping off a delivery-go figure. This had to be a sign. I was destined to work at the business for sure. Well… after returning their call, that wasn’t the case. I was confounded initially, scratching my head and in plain disbelief. Though they assured me it was a very challenging decision between another candidate and I, it didn’t help my ego-ugh.

  • With nothing else planned or any agenda, I had the whole day to play things by ear. Maybe spending time alongside nature with a hike, a drive to a new town, or befriend new people to work on social skills. I definitely wasn’t in a hurry that’s for certain; however my stomach was growling. My favorite sandwich spot is about 25min from me (without traffic). Figured it was a nice day why not take the scenic route as to kill time. So I bit my tongue and drove out there only to find it was closed for season changes. The one day man-ugghh.

  • Remembering I had a gift card to New Seasons market, since my sandwich place is a no go, I couldn’t go wrong with a wok bowl my roommate and I used to get all the time. We got our moneys worth to be honest. You can stuff as much as we can on those bowls-seriously. Walking into the market, I didn’t see the condiments for the wok section. I asked the chef worker where did they held the wok station? He mentioned they no longer provide them and only what you see here-uuuuugggghhhhh…
