As the sun slips below the horizon on this Sunday evening, the world feels a little quieter, a little lighter.

We'd walk down the street to our local coffee shop, excited for our little adventure. You'd always get your famous hot chocolate with whipped cream and a cake pop, and then we'd pull out our books and read for a while.

One of them took the time to coach and mentor me during a period when I was struggling to stay afloat, both professionally and personally. He reminded me of the core values that define who we are and helped me find the strength to pick myself up, move forward, and persevere.

As I got closer, I saw an elderly woman behind the wheel—tiny, barely visible over it. I tried to get her attention, but she seemed more frightened than aware of what was happening around her.

He told me to reach out whenever I needed help, then he leaned in with: “You know, it’s okay to wave the white flag if you need to, nothing wrong with that”. This stuck with me that day and this weekend.

As your brother, I cherish how you always come through. I’m so proud of the sacrifices you’ve made, the battles you’ve faced, and the way you’ve prevailed through it all.

So, what is a habit? It’s a repetitive behavior that is automatic and occurs subconsciously due to frequent repetition, occurring with little or no conscious thought.

As I walked to my car, I noticed a laminated note tucked neatly under my windshield wiper. My first thought? Great—another ad. Someone trying to sell me something I didn’t ask for.

progress doesn’t come from perfect information—it comes from motion. Decisions don’t need to be flawless; they need to be established. Every choice teaches you something, even the wrong ones.
