Traffic Lights

When jogging became challenging during my workouts, I’d sometimes count the number of people or traffic lights I’d ran past. Why? As a reminder that it wasn’t about the immediate pain, but about moving forward. I could always take one more step. It was visible, tangible, real.

When the mind dives towards the future, anticipating what lies ahead, my body’s job is simply to listen and move accordingly. Pain will still be there, but more manageable when I stop looking too far ahead.

When taking the running shoes off, I try not to forget that the idea remains.

Life will resist us at times. Being less pensive and trusting ourselves more, can transform each next step into a story worth telling, rather than a collection of details to dwell on. Don’t get me wrong, life calls for planning. But sometimes, it also calls for us to put our heads down, quiet our minds, and find a way forward…

To move toward something greater without needing to know exactly how we’ll get there.
