As we celebrate another Halloween, I was amazed by the decorations throughout the neighborhoods as I drove to and from running errands. Some homes were completely decked out with elaborate themes, while others featured humorous displays inspired by the memes we typically share on social media.

One home really stood out. The owners had transformed their entire front lawn into a bloody happy-hour stop, complete with a tent, buckets of red drinks (some with alcohol), green shots, and even syringes for an added spike. It looked like a welcoming haunted house with a twist. I appreciated their creativity and made sure to thank them for keeping the Halloween spirit alive.

Although I didn't see many trick-or-treaters, I did come across a little princess, probably around six years old. As I approached, she gave me a curious look, as she’s trying to figure out my costume. I was simply wearing jeans and a hoodie, so I smiled to let her know I was a friendly fella. She immediately smiled back and shouted, "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!". You can just feel her excitement as her wand pointed at me. It was great. Behind her was what I believe to be her older brother, followed by the parents (which they were in their onesies). Even the father waved to me and wished me a happy Halloween.
