Storms
The thing about them is that they all have one thing in common: they pass. And once they’re gone, they leave you as someone different from who you were before you stepped into them—before being consumed by their conditions. They’re disruptors, breaking us down so that we can build again. So we can discover within the might that often remains tucked away during the sunny days. As I’ve been doing the work of self-healing on my own, I’ve learned to tap into my worth and recognize those strengths.
But don’t be fooled into thinking those dark clouds and heavy winds have nothing of value to offer us. Don’t be tricked into believing the rain will consume all the good in life. Because at the end of the day, it’s that very rain that washes away the excess and leaves behind what is meaningful.
We don’t grow despite the storms; we grow because of them.
Without the storm, everything seemed fine. But in the thick of it, when multiple factors begin to reveal themselves, the storm often paints a picture we simply weren’t able to see before.
When the storm presents you with new information, a new portrait—pivot.
Grow with your understanding. Grow with your newly acquired knowledge. Growth is perspective. Growth is awareness. And as the storms shake your foundation, they also hand you a clarity that those blue skies simply could not.
So adjust. Adapt. And move further into the person you are becoming.
You cannot learn that on a sunny day.
No… that’s what storms are for…
