Strong Front & Back
A soft front is the capacity to remain open and empathetic. A strong back is your backbone—your boundaries. It’s knowing who you are, what you stand for, and what you will and will not tolerate.
Knowing your values gives you that backbone. When you have a strong back, you can remain empathetic toward someone else without worrying that you’re being taken advantage of. You can stay open without abandoning yourself.
When you’re open, you ask questions. You stay curious. But when you abandon yourself, you may become so eager to believe another person’s answers that you lose touch with your own knowing.
Being open doesn’t mean giving up control. It means remaining grounded in who you are while being willing to listen, learn, and adapt.
Be grateful for the discomfort that makes its way in and out of our lives. Because when we learn to welcome it, our participation in life begins to aim toward the sky.
