Control
There will always be responsibility and sacrifice in life. But once we recognize our agency, we begin to ask: What are we sacrificing? Where are we going? Who are we becoming? Are we spending time with people who lift us up? Are we doing things that contribute to a greater vision? Most importantly, are we living a life that is true to ourselves?
Because time moves quickly. Next month, next year, even the next decade will arrive before we know it—and none of it is guaranteed. No one is going to stop us and tell us that we’re simply going through the motions. That realization has to come from within.
We have the tools to shape our lives, but tools require a creator. We have to be willing to see what isn’t there yet and build toward it. So ask ourselves: Are we building? Where are we going? When the feet hit the ground each morning, what are we moving toward?
We are not confined to the story we’ve been living. Yesterday is already a story, and tomorrow is still unwritten. Break down the walls. Walk away from old stories and old characters. See not only what is, but what could be if we have the courage to build something different.
What if today we created a new ending—one that lights us up in the morning and gives us a sense of purpose when we close our eyes at night?
No one is coming to hand that life to us. No one will tell us when you’re selling yourself short. That transformation begins with you—the willingness to ask the questions you’ve been avoiding and the courage to act on the answers.
Maybe today can be the first page of an entirely new chapter: a chapter in a story that is truly, entirely ours.
