Revisit Portland
Was grateful to take advantage of the beautiful weather today in Portland, OR, and spend some quality time with my mother exploring downtown. She’s been to Portland plenty of times over the years, but most of those visits have been around the holidays—Christmas, Thanksgiving, birthdays, and other special occasions. This time, I wanted to do something a little different. I wanted to take her around some of the places that became part of my own story when I moved north back in 2011.
I have to give a lot of credit to my roommate back then, who introduced me to many of those spots and helped me discover a side of the city that eventually became familiar to me.
It was special getting to revisit some of those places, but even more special getting to experience them again with my mom. Sometimes it’s not really about where you go, but who you get to share the day with.
